    The ship 

    Introduced in 2013, the MS EUROPA 2 has a gross tonnage of around 42,830 GT and measures 739 feet in length and 88 feet in width. Built at in , she was designed to offer generous space and smooth circulation on board. Her size also allows her, depending on the itinerary, to call at certain ports that are less accessible to large ships. In terms of amenities, she notably features a pool of around 49 feet, a wellness area, a fitness center, and golf simulators.

     

    Dining, bars, and freedom at the table

    On board, there are 7 restaurants and 6 bars/lounges. The organization is built around flexibility (extended hours, informal atmosphere), with a freedom-at-the-table concept (no assigned seating/no fixed dinner seatings in principle). The variety of dining styles reflects the ship’s “casual luxury” positioning, and the culinary experience is often highlighted as one of EUROPA 2’s strong points.

     

    Suites, comfort, and service

    The MS EUROPA 2 has 251 suites, designed to emphasize space and light, with a balcony/veranda in every suite. Entry-level categories are around 377 sq. ft. (suite + veranda), which already places them above typical space standards, while higher categories add a clearer separation between living and sleeping spaces, larger walk-in closets, and, depending on the suite, signature features such as more spacious bathrooms (double vanity, whirlpool tub, separate shower). The minibar is included (at minimum soft drinks and beer, with a broader selection in higher categories) and, for Penthouse suites and above, butler service is provided, along with added privileges depending on the category. Gratuities are included in the cruise fare, and the experience is generally described as highly service-oriented, with strong attention to detail and personalized care.

     

    Wellness, leisure, and onboard atmosphere

    The ship includes wellness and fitness spaces, as well as an entertainment and performance program. The spa (often referred to as the “Ocean Spa” in the ship’s materials) typically includes heat areas (sauna, hammam) and treatment rooms, with the possibility of reserving a “Personal Spa” space during certain time slots (private sauna and whirlpool, subject to availability). Depending on the itinerary, lectures and cultural events may also be offered. The overall atmosphere is fairly calm, in line with the ship’s limited capacity.

     

    Itineraries and travel style

    The MS EUROPA 2 operates a variety of itineraries depending on the season, combining classic destinations with more exclusive ports of call. The format (up to about 500 passengers) emphasizes onboard space, day-to-day flexibility, and a high level of service. In practical terms, this includes, for example, Mediterranean cruises (e.g. Athens/Piraeus – Palma de Mallorca) or more “grand voyage” style itineraries into the Atlantic and beyond (e.g. Lisbon – Tenerife, depending on the season). In some announced seasons, EUROPA 2 is also positioned on more far-flung routes with featured calls such as Dakar or Zanzibar, in a spirit of more eclectic discovery.
